Sonaca know-how in thermal and structural analysis has been applied in geophysical instruments like HP³. This instrument package has been built for DLR as a part of NASA-JPL Insight Mission, which aim is to investigate the interior structure and processes of Mars. Sonaca was in charge of the systems engineering, AIT (Assembly Integration and Testing), Thermal Engineering, Structural Analysis, Quality Assurance, Configuration management on the instrument and its subsystems.
