Sonaca inaugurates a production hall in Romania

Sonaca is doubling its production capacity at its factory in Romania, Cluj county. 

Completed in November 2024 and officially accepted by authorities in May 2025, this investment doubled the factory’s capacity with a brand-new 14,000 sqm building, strengthening Sonaca Romania’s industrial footprint.

Following this investment, Sonaca Romania will double its workforce, adding 160 new employees to the new production hall.
“The recruitment process is underway and will accelerate next year as production ramps up. We are hiring support staff and technical specialists to install new equipment and qualify production lines to Airbus standards. In the coming months, we will recruit production operators skilled in CNC machining, sheet metal forming, surface treatment, and metal bonding”, added Charles Roussel.

Sonaca Romania will manufacture the primary parts for two programs: Airbus A320 slat and Airbus A321 inboard flap. This new facility will host sheet metal forming and metal bonding processes including unique capabilities meeting Airbus’ specifications having high standards requirements.
