We are very excited that MELT project has received the TCT Aerospace Application Award 2018! In this European Space Agency (ESA) funded project, a 3D printer breadboard capable of processing PEEK and able to work under microgravity conditions of the International Space Station (ISS) was designed, developed and tested. The breadboard was used to manufacture several ISS-relevant functional parts with engineering polymer under different g-vector orientations. The project was carried out by a consortium led by Sonaca Space GmbH (Germany), with Beeverycreative (Portugal), OHB System AG (Germany) and Active Space Technologies (Portugal). We are proud to have contributed our thermal and mechanical engineering expertise to the project.
