Sonaca is developping laminar wing solution for next generation aircraft.
Sonaca entered the Clean Sky 2 program to contribute to the Hybrid Laminar Flow Control (HLFC-WIN) Large Scale Demonstration with the partnership of DLR, Aernnova, Onera and Airbus as coordinator. Cleansky2 initiative aims to develop new technologies for a clean, innovative and competitive aviation system.
The project aim was to develop and materialize a laminar wing fixed leading edge, fully integrated with its sub-systems. As a reminder, HLFC technology is designed to maintain the smoothest possible flow along the wing and offers potential fuel consumption reduction.
Sonaca was in charge of the design and manufacturing of a « Krueger » high-lift and insect shielding system, with its kinematics. Sonaca also supported the leading edge structure and integration studies, and contributed to the structural justification through bird impact analysis.
